Our team recently published findings in npj Biofilms and Microbiomes indicating that a synbiotics formula, SCM06, may reduce anxiety and sensory sensitivity in children, offering hope for young patients.
Understanding Synbiotics and Their Benefits
Synbiotics combine probiotics and prebiotics to enhance gut health. This combination positively influences emotions and behavior. Our team developed SCM06 specifically to address anxiety and sensory sensitivity issues in children.
Study Overview
Our study suggests that SCM06 can lower anxiety and improve sensory processing in children. This provides a viable treatment option amid the rising prevalence of anxiety disorders. The results demonstrated that after taking SCM06 for six weeks, anxiety symptoms began to significantly improve. This improvement continued throughout the entire 12-week period, showing a notable reduction of approximately 20%.
Improvements in Sensory Processing
Additionally, both sensory hypersensitivity and abdominal pain exhibited significant improvements after the 12-week treatment. We observed an overall reduction of 15-20%. Importantly, no serious adverse reactions were recorded during this time.
Implications for Mental Health Treatments
Our work highlights the potential for new mental health treatments for children. Enhancing gut health with synbiotics could lead to reduced anxiety and sensory sensitivity. This fosters happier, healthier kids.
The Future of Neurodevelopmental Condition Management
As we look to the future, it is essential to explore innovative approaches to managing neurodevelopmental conditions. Our research aims to revolutionize early detection and management, starting with Autism Spectrum Disorder. By pioneering non-invasive, accurate, and scalable diagnostic tools based on microbiome science, we hope to make a significant impact.
